During this taster, we would like to focus on the concepts of intensity and intention, which we see as essential to conscious and enjoyable dancing. Sometimes, we already have everything we need to make a dance feel pleasant and genuine, without having to push ourselves to use the most difficult step in our repertoire. We would like to help dancers recognize and experience the different intensities within a song, so they can draw inspiration from the music more naturally and simply enjoy the great music we dance to.

Rhythm & Blues is the definition of party music: honking saxophones, heavy backbeats, punchy horn riffs, and raw vocals. Come get down with this raunchy, earthy and unapologetically sexy style. We’ll dig into the music, explore its rhythms and attitude, and learn some seriously cool moves to bring straight to the PIS dance floor.

Let your Balboa be inspired by some iconic shag moves.

An experiential class exploring what it means to be present on the dance floor. Like mindfulness in daily life, our best dancing happens when we're in flow, and flow can be cultivated. Through guided exercises, we'll bring attention to sensation, sound, connection, and the floor beneath us, discovering how presence transforms everything we do into a more relaxed and joyful experience. This class will assume you know Balboa basics but no mindfulness or meditation experience is necessary.
by Alex & Juji
